the last couple of months

The past couple of months has been very busy, and I have not had a lot of time to post, so this is some major catch up.
Some of you know that we made an unplanned trip out to washington at the beginning of the month. Geoff's grandmother passed away on September 30th, so we packed our bags and made the long drive out to there so we could be with his family. We are so glad that we went. We wish would could have gone under better cirucmstances, but we are still very grateful that we got to go. We ended up staying one extra day so that we could do something fun. We drove to Hood River and stopped at a whole bunch of apple orchards, then we made a stop at Multnomah Falls (my pictures don't do it justice).

It was cold outside when we were walking to the falls, and Emma didn't want to walk so our strong daddy carried both kids to the bridge.

The best orchard we went to was Mt. View orchards, they had these humongous apples...Emma had a great time sampling all the apples, and when we were finished we left with about 40 lbs. Yum!

I was so proud of Emma, I asked her if she wanted to feed the goats and she said yes, but I didn't really think that she would...after watching me do it a few times she stepped right up and did it.

James loves to color...he loves to do just about anything that his sister does.

One day we were there we went out with some of our other cousins...we ended up having lunch at McDonalds.

Here are Emma, Brigham and Gracie eating there happy meals.

This is up American Fork Canyon, we went up one Sunday afternoon and had a BBQ. It was pretty windy, which made it cold, so we just hurried and ate and drove home. While we were there we did get to see 3 deer come through. They stayed for a bit, it was great to watch them.

I absolutely love this picture.

Emma has some wonderful extended family, that love to spoil her. My aunt bought Emma these great boots, and a tutu as well.

Emma has started dance lessons, she loves going. Here are few pictures. Sorry the quality is so bad, I sit behind a glass window, so it's hard to get good pics.

A Band Family is Forever

I know that I am behind on my posts but this needs to be put before anything else.
As many of you probably already know, American Fork Marching Band had a very tragic accident late Saturday night while driving home from a competition in Pocatello. Heather Christensen tried to save the bus from going off the road, in her efforts she did save everyone else on the bus, but lost her life.
Band is a family, once you're part of the band, you are always family. It breaks my heart to know about this tragic accident. My first year of band we lost a family member to another accident. It was hard to deal with, we had a lot of support from the community. Band was a big part of my life, I made lots of really good friends there. After each competition we would gather around the singing tree outside the band room and sing "friends" when we first started singing this it didn't mean much, but after our loss in 96 it meant a lot, even now reading the lyrics brings tears to my eyes.
On Tuesday night, the 13th, there will be many of us going to there competition at BYU, we will all be wearing red and sitting together. I hope that you all will join us to support the band. They will be dedicating this performance to Heather. I still remember walking out onto that field the night we dedicated our performance to Tanya...it was very emotional. I hope that everyone can be there for the band.
Friends
Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
I can't believe the hopes He's granted
Means a chapter of your life is through
But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
And with the faith and love God's given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you live in
Is the strength that now you show
We'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friendsTo live as friends
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
No a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
